We love everything about the current Toyota Camry. It’s sporty, sleek, affordable, and efficient — but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement! Thankfully, Toyota shares that same mindset and it looks like they’ve worked hard to create an all-new Toyota Camry even more tempting than the last model. Take a look at the rest of our blog to get introduced to the 2018 Toyota Camry, which was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show today.
All-new 2018 Toyota Camry at the Detroit Auto Show
The 2018 Toyota Camry has been the best-selling car for the past 15 years, and after looking at the all-new design for the 2018 Toyota Camry — we expect that record to continue for at least a few more years! The new design for the Camry has it sitting lower to the ground, is just slightly wider and has a longer wheelbase. All of this amounts to a Camry that is sleeker and has better handling and driving dynamics than the Camry models of the past.
What’s new in the 2018 Toyota Camry?
The 2018 Camry is also getting a new set of powertrains, including a new 3.5L V6, 2.5L I-4, and a new hybrid system. The new I-4 engine and V6 will also come with a new 8-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission. The hybrid Camry will instead rely on a CVT with a new sport mode that mimics the behavior of a 6-speed automatic with sequential shifting.
Toyota has promised high fuel efficiency for the Camry, though we don’t have any specific numbers to go off of yet. What we do know is that they have said to expect the Camry hybrid to rock “Prius-like” city/highway efficiency. The current Prius is sitting at a 54 city/50 highway rating.
When will the 2018 Toyota Camry be available?
Toyota has said that you can find the all-new 2018 Camry at dealerships, such as Heritage Toyota, in late summer of 2017. It may seem like a way off, but we’re still looking forward to the steady stream of info that is sure to come in during this time!
