The 2017 Toyota Yaris is excellent for when you want a hatchback that has style, efficiency, and plenty of features. But does it have a hot hatch variation? Well, it soon will. Toyota Europe is bringing a new high-performance Yaris to the Geneva International Motor Show next month. Take a look below for details!
Toyota Yaris Hot Hatch at Geneva Auto Show
The new hot hatch Toyota Yaris will provide a stop in between the regular Yaris and the rally car version. Based on early info, the hot hatch Yaris is set to offer more than 210 horsepower — which should make driving this small car a pretty thrilling experience. The performance Yaris will also get a few aesthetic changes to better match its new performance. That was the good news, but here is the bad news: we currently don’t know whether or not this car will arrive in the US. Be sure to check back during the Geneva auto show to see if we have any updates for you!
What performance cars does Toyota make?
Fortunately for the US, Toyota does make some vehicles that we’d label as performance cars. The one that comes to mind quickest is the Toyota 86. Everything about the 2017 Toyota 86 screams “drive me!” The coupe exterior styling on the 86 is the perfect way to turn heads, and its 205 horsepower rating does wonders on this light car. Best yet, you can pick it up in either a manual or automatic, depending on your preference.
If you’d rather have the sedan build, then there are two models that we think offer just what you need: the Toyota Avalon and Toyota Camry. The Camry can be equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine with 268 horsepower when you pick up the XSE trim. The Toyota Avalon XLE comes with the same engine and will output the same 268 horsepower for a thrilling drive.
