What is Toyota going to show off at the Chicago Auto Show?
It is simply staggering the amount of work and preparation that goes into an automaker revealing a new model at an auto show. Toyota has already set the bar pretty high after the display it put on at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. However, it looks like they aren’t done yet and we have another special release coming up next month in Chicago. So, what is Toyota going to show off at the Chicago Auto Show? One of the more cryptic teasers the company has ever released showed up on their social media streams today, and it appears we’re going to get a glimpse at a new lineup of TRD branded vehicles.
Here is what we know
As you can see from the photo at the top of the page, Toyota is playing this one pretty close to the vest. However, using the latest digital technology Heritage Toyota has available (Photoshop), it appears that Toyota is making some changes to the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra. It’s unlikely that these changes will simply be regular new model-year improvements. The rumor around the internet is that these vehicles’ TRD trims will be getting some upgrades.
This puts the possibility of better overall off-road capability on the table. All three vehicles already have a pretty strong TRD-themed trim and the thought of what would make Toyota put out such a teaser is tantalizing indeed. The presentation starts at 10 a.m. Eastern time on Feb. 8. We’ll bring you more information following the show with all of the new information that is released.
